Commercialization & Partnerships Lead

Full time

About Us

Join a team of action-oriented, execution-obsessed professionals on a mission to fight climate change by removing carbon dioxide from the air. Removr industrializes Direct Air Carbon Capture (DAC) and will build the world’s first megaton plant by 2030.

To prevent the worst effects of climate change, humanity must drastically reduce emissions. But that is not enough. According to the UN IPCC, removing carbon from the atmosphere is necessary and unavoidable if we are to mitigate catastrophic climate change.

To make a real impact in the fight against climate change, DAC must scale up as fast as possible and at the lowest cost possible. The Removr team applies its unique process industry and energy infrastructure expertise to a proven technology to build large-scale process plants.

Founded in Norway in 2021, Removr builds, owns and operates Direct Air Carbon Capture plants that suck carbon dioxide directly from the air and permanently store it underground.

Join our team today, it’s time to act.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

At Removr, we believe that a well-rounded team where everyone feels safe to be themselves is not only just, it makes us stronger. Therefore, building a diverse Removr is critical to our success. We are committed to diversity and passionate about building an equitable and inclusive environment for people of all backgrounds and experiences.

We especially invite members of traditionally underrepresented communities to apply, including women, people of color, LGBTQ+ people, and people with disabilities.

Your Role

The Removr commercial team is a small, action-oriented group responsible for turning our carbon removal into a thriving business.

As Commercialization & Partnership Lead, your goal is to build the strategy and deliver on the monetization of our carbon assets.

Relationship building and business-to-business sales experience is fundamental to this role, as you and the team will be interacting closely with large corporates wishing to compensate for their emissions.

You should also be extremely financially astute, making complex channel choices to optimise the revenue for our growers, a task that becomes more complex as we have larger volumes of increasingly differentiated carbon credits.

Ideally you have prior experience in carbon trading, climate finance or the renewable power industry.

This role is based out of Oslo, Norway,  New York, NY (or US hydrbid, there is some flexibility for the right profile) and reports to the Chief Growth Officer.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the Removr commercial roadmap.
  • Secure first-of-a-kind commercial agreements and partnerships for Removr, including deal economics.
  • Build pipelines of target partners, or grow existing partnerships.
  • Lead exploratory discussions with existing or prospective customers and partners to determine fit with Removr’s carbon removal solutions.
  • Educate customers on CDR, DAC, Removr and its competitive advantages.
  • Cultivate senior-level executive relationships with partners.
  • Develop pitch and positioning for new business opportunities and market segments.

Your Profile

  • You have negotiated numerous first-of-a-kind deals and partnerships, including deal structuring and negotiation.
  • You have firsthand experience in environmental markets such as GHG emission removals and reductions or renewable power.
  • You have a strong existing network of key corporations and organizations working on sustainable development action.
  • You have 5+ years experience in early stage business development, account management, or strategic partnerships in high growth / early stage startups.
  • Exceptional written and spoken English language skills; any other language is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 40%.

About You

  • You are comfortable making decisions based on real-world uncertainty and imperfect data.
  • You are a collaborator to the core, and consensus builder.
  • You are optimistic and practical.
  • You foster mutually beneficial relationships and are a strong networker.
  • You are yourself!
